While we are not in an ideal situation with COVID-19 pandemic, myDoc Urgent Care encourages everyone to follow CDC’s guideline in preventing and care of this disease: wear mask, social distancing, testing, and contact tracing.
myDoc Urgent Care also suggests to test widely and frequently; this helps to ease the anxiety about the pandemic, but also assists in resuming economic activities safely.
What is COVID-19 Testing?
- Nucleic acid amplification tests – also known as genetic, RNA or PCR tests. This test requires respiratory samples from the patient because SARS-CoV-2 is a respiratory virus. This test is to determine if you are currently infected by the virus.
- This is different from the anti-body testing which is to test previous infections.
- myDoc Urgent Care uses Lab Corp for COVID 19 testing.

Turn Around Time for Test Results
Currently, Lab Corp’s turn-around time is about 2-3 days. We encourage our patients to create a Lab Corp patient portal so the result can be received directly, bypassing the need to call our office.
COVID Symptomatic Patients
If you are experiencing any COVID symptoms (which are similar to that of a cold or flu), please schedule a TeleHealth visit with us first. We don’t admit COVID patients to our offices per CDC guidelines.
Finally, we strongly encourage everyone to get your flu vaccine soon. We have flu vaccine and most insurances are accepted.
