The myDoc Difference

We believe IV’s should be administered in a qualified medical office setting or hospitals, preceded by medical examination by a licensed medical provider. Preferably, lab work is performed before the first treatment. Anyone who administers IV’s should hold a IV Certification.

MyDoc Urgent Care is following IV Therapy Protocol to ensure safety and effectiveness:

  • All patients who seek IV Therapy treatments are recommended to have a physical including lab work a few days before the first treatment, especially if you have not had a physical in the past 12 months. We can perform this for you and it maybe paid for by your insurance plan. This can also be performed on the day of your visit, less ideal but recommended.
  • Each visit is preceded by a medical examination that may include onsite urine test. IV is administered in a safe and medical grade exam room. The IV patient is closely monitored and we will stop IV immediately should you have any adverse reactions.
  • Based on our medical evaluation, we will recommend the best treatment option for you, which may also include a recommendation of not getting a IV Therapy on that day, in which case, we will not charge you.
  • All patients are required to sign a IV Consent Form.

About 30 minutes on IV, overall visit time about 45 minutes to an hour. We encourage you to rest for a few minutes post IV Treatment.
A pinch when needle goes in; some may feel a warm sensation when IV starts.
Some may feel the effect immediately or shortly after the treatment, some may wait for a day or two. The reaction may also be subtle. For example, you may feel more energetic than usual.

The effective level maybe different among patients therefore ingredients often need to be adjusted to achieve best results.

Anyone who has a compromised heart or kidney functions.
Certain medications may interact with IV Therapy, please consult us first.
I additional, patients who have a needle phobia (Trypanophobia).
IV Therapy is not for everyone and should not be used as the sole treatment plan for your conditions. IV Therapy should not be used more than once a week and should not replace the natural healing process. For example, if you use IV Therapy to treat a hangover, it does not mean you should not drink responsively.
As with any IV procedure, IV therapy comes with the potential risk of infection, bruising and pain, and in more serious although rare cases, it can result in a blood clot or inflammation of the vein.

IV is a safe procedure, however, it is an invasive treatment and should only be obtained in a qualified medical office or hospital setting. IV should only be ordered by a licensed medical provider such as physician, physician assistant, or nurse practitioner, and should always be proceeded by a thorough medical examination and testing.
